Case Statement 2026
Our Story AMY, GRADE 11 ICSV has a strong sense of community, and the teachers genuinely care about helping each student succeed. It’s a place where you feel supported, welcomed, and encouraged to grow both academically and personally. The International Christian School of Vienna (ICSV) was founded by American missionaries who sought a school for their children while serving in Eastern Europe. Vienna served as their base for spreading the Gospel to neighboring countries. After receiving recognition from the Education Board, ICSV opened its doors in 1986 with 25 students in a church building. The growing international student body and the need for an English- speaking Christian school prompted the school board to expand its mission to share the good news of Jesus with the nations. Over the years, ICSV has facilitated instruction at four locations across the city before settling at its current location, a renovated porcelain factory. ICSV is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and is also associated with the the Free Churches of Austria School Consortium (Schulamt Freikirchen Österreich). After more than twenty-five years of offering the American High School Diploma, our commitment to providing excellent education is reflected in expanding the educational program in 2015 by adding the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This allows us to offer more courses and prepare students to thrive in university and beyond. Our alumni have gone to globally ranked universities, such as Stanford University, Wheaton College, and King’s College London, and are making a difference in their communities. Today, ICSV is the only K-12 English- speaking Christian school that offers both diploma programs in all of Austria, the only school of its kind in a nation of 9 million people. Our school community comprises students from over 65 nationalities and diverse faith and family backgrounds. As dedicated educators, we want every student to thrive in life. We equip students with the tools and skills to think critically and cultivate meaningful relationships that teach Christian character. 5
