Then on Friday evening, we enjoyed our first high school prom in three years. Everyone looked so lovely in their gowns and suits. The junior class gave out superlative certificates to each senior. Some examples are “most likely to become an ICSV teacher” and “best friend.” There were videos of staff and students wishing the graduates well as they leave ICSV and begin a new phase of their life. Tonight, we’ll have our final Coffeehaus. What a great way to end the year together.
These are the kinds of activities that we have been missing so much at ICSV. Next year, we hope to be able to return to River of Life in Romania, to hold the annual Lip Sync Contest, and to get drama up and running again. There are so many fun events that we can look forward to in 2022-2023.
The featured song of the Secondary Concert was called “Dancing on the Waves.” Our very own Annie Siratt sang the solo part, leaving most of us in tears. The lyrics are written from God’s perspective, as He speaks to each of us. Some of the lyrics are:
I set every star into place
So you would remember my name
I made it all for you
You are My masterpiece
You are the reason I sing
This is my song for you
I’m reaching out, I’ll chase you down
Come on, I dare you to believe how much I love you, oh, I love you
Don’t be afraid, know that I am your strength
We’ll be walking on the water, dancing on the waves
These words create a picture in my mind of dancing with my Savior on top of the water, without a care in the world. As we come to the end of another busy year, what a special reminder that God is our strength, He is making all things new in His time, and we don’t need to be afraid. We can trust Him because He is the Creator of the universe. And yet, He knows my name, and He cares about me.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the Eighth Grade Celebration and finally at Graduation in less than two weeks. Enjoy the time we have together. It is special.
Because of His Faithfulness,
Dr. Sharon Brobst, Director
