Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year
We are looking forward to a year of getting back to our pre-pandemic ICSV. Our focus this year is to build community. For this reason, our theme is “Build Each Other Up,” looking at the verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:11 – “Encourage each other, and build each other up, just as you are doing.”
What does “build each other up” mean? It means to encourage, inspire, comfort, cheer, reassure, console, boost someone’s morale, give hope to, lift someone’s spirits, etc. As you visit the school, please walk around and read some of the quotes that have been hung in the hallways to encourage us every day.
We are planning our many special events for the year. This includes Lip Sync, Talent Show, Spring Festival, athletics, theatre, concerts, class trips, elementary clubs, coffeehaus, and the list goes on. I encourage the students to take part in as many extra activities as they can and for parents to join us whenever possible.
I’ve already been in meetings to discuss secondary class trips, the Romania Mission Trip and the Art Trip that both take place during fall break, and our first Coffeehaus for high school next Friday. The Secondary Back to School Night for parents is on Thursday evening, September 8, at 6:00. The Elementary event will follow a couple of weeks later.
It sure has been an exciting week seeing the kids return! Wishing you the best year yet! Let’s “build each other up!”
Because of His Faithfulness,
Dr. Sharon Brobst, Director
