Middle & High School
Arts
Through art, we interpret and convey God’s creation in a personal and meaningful way. The ICSV Visual and Performing Arts Department provides students with opportunities to discover, appreciate, and develop their artistic giftings and to give glory to God, the giver of those gifts. .
Visual Arts
In Middle School, students can take a ceramics elective that includes a field trip to Potteria twice a year. High School students can take art as an elective or join the IB Art class, which includes both a junior and a final senior art exhibit. These students continue to enjoy field trips to see local artists.
Every two years, the Visual Arts Department offers an art trip to Venice, Italy.
Music
Instrumental instruction continues at the Middle School level. During their music class, Middle School students are prepared for the Christmas and spring concerts. In High School, students have the option of joining the school choir. The ACSI Honor Choir is an annual event where auditioned students have the opportunity to sing with students from all over Europe. This event gives them the opportunity to grow as musicians and to build relationships with other international students.
Students at all levels can be part of a worship team that leads their peers during weekly chapels.
Drama
The ICSV Drama Department allows students to use their dramatic abilities as a form of worship. In Middle School, there is the opportunity to be part of a larger production. Some years there is a Middle School musical, and others the Drama Department produces a larger show that involves students from all levels. Students can also serve behind the scenes, working on costumes, the set, stage crew, and technical areas.
Every other year, the Drama Department sponsors a theatre trip to London where they view several productions, take backstage tours, and attend workshops with professional working actors.
Digital Arts
ICSV students are taught how to make presentations using online resources. During Middle and High School, there are numerous computer electives, such as graphic design, web design, and programming that students can join. Students become proficient in Microsoft Word and the Adobe Creative Suite. The High School Publications class is also in charge of the yearbook each year.
